In IGCSE Business Studies (0986/0450), students explore how businesses operate, grow, and make decisions in a rapidly changing world. The course introduces the fundamentals of business activity, human resources, marketing, operations, finance, and the external environment, helping students understand what makes a business succeed or fail.

Throughout the syllabus, learners develop analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills by applying concepts to real-life business situations.

Assessment is through two papers:

• Paper 1 (Short-Answer and Structured Questions): 1 hour 30 minutes, worth 50% of the final grade. This paper tests your knowledge and understanding of key business concepts through shorter, structured questions.
• Paper 2 (Case Study): 1 hour 30 minutes, worth 50%. Students apply their understanding to a real-world business case, analyzing problems and making justified recommendations.

To achieve the top grades (Grade 9 / A*), students usually need strong analytical and application skills,not just memorization and an ability to connect theory to business realities.
